Nepal
is an extremely poor and underdeveloped country, with most
of its population relying on small-scale agriculture. The
Himalayan kingdom of Nepal is renowned for its breathtaking
scenery, its rich cultural heritage and its friendly people
and is dotted with both Hindu and Buddhist temples and sites
of pilgrimage.
Volunteering
in Nepal means lot from sharing extensive knowledge and helping
the peoples of this country taking back the memories of beauties.
Volunteers work in a range of village-based projects with
local people. Participants experience the traditional way
of life, the culture and the beauty of Nepal, while engaging
in an exchange of ideas and work practices in the poorest
communities.
You are having
the greatest moment of your life helping those poor families
and communities with us in the field of sanitation, health,
environment, education and more.
Teaching
in Schools of Village
Education is taken as the backbone of the national development.
During Volunteering you will stay with a Nepali host family
in the program village (Gorkha). You will teach at the local
school for 2 to 6 hours each day, six days a week, with a
break on Saturdays. The school children will be mostly 10
to 16 years of age with Basic English skills and Class size
ranges from 10 to 80 students.
Program
Length : From 01 month up to 05 months.
Who can Volunteer?
We arrange the placements for the students and teachers of
Universities and colleges, other organizations and clubs,
church groups, youth groups, retired and overall experienced
seniors and families for meaningful volunteer experiences.
All applicants should have: a desire to help the people of
Nepal, flexibility, self-motivation, openness to a new culture
and a willingness to learn.
How
you Volunteer
You will be received in Kathmandu by our representative and
then with the basic orientation on Culture, Language and Village
you will then transfer to the programme village. We arrange
the host family along with clean and comfortable room. The
arrangements cover three local meals per day which will be
typical Nepali set food contains the Lentil soup, curry, plain
rice, pickles etc. The most important fact to bear in mind
is that one should not expect luxurious accommodations and
living here in Nepal. |
